Broncos star Payne Haas has been granted personal leave from his team while his imprisoned mother continues to suffer from her car crash injuries. His mother Uiatu ‘Joan’ Taufua, 46, was sent to the Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre last Wednesday after being hit with three charges of manslaughter for allegedly causing a fatal crash west of the  on December 30, 2022. Police allege Taufua was driving dangerously at a high speed when her black Mercedes wagon veered into the wrong lane near Bonogin, hitting a silver Mercedes with three people inside.
